Can anyone give me some guidance on evidence requirements for this unit, is it looking at the big picture as in what the company does, how it operates and the work going on internally, then seeing what H&S competence is required at each of level in terms of legal requirements (eg appointed persons for first aid/fire, risk assessments etc)company requirements (eg policy and procedures house rules etc) and job specific (eg manual handling, use of ladders, PPE etc) could I use the organisation section of safety policy to help define required competence within company?

This has got to be JSA's for certain jobs
ie) a welder, a driver, a painter

what competence they need ie) do they need qualifications etc to do the job

Then the next part is all about describing competencies ie) what makes them competent in your organisation?
design a training course for competence
how will it be delivered ie) power point, in a meeting, tool box talk etc
deliver the training
and evaluation - so dont forget the course feedback forms from everyone

Can any one help me with a JSA form / template please. This is the only part of the element I am having trouble with.
If any one has got a JSA for asbestos removal that would be great.

Thanks in advance

i had feed back on my folder from the iv but i need to do this before i am hopefully finished. Can some one help please.

He is unable to see where i have analysed the functions, activities, tasks and jobs in my organisation and unable to see evidence of identifying competence needs as oppsed to providing training as described in the report and shown in the evidence and also cannot identify the designing of training courses can someone help this doing my head in.

Ego,

I think your IV is after evidence that you have selected training courses based on the activities that the employees do.

So, how do you chose a course? Do you have minutes from a meeting? do you have emails from people offering courses to make people competent? is there a bench mark course that you set for operatives?

In other words how did you decide that Joe Bloggs needed to go on a First Aid course?

Evident may be:

Job Analysis
Review
Legislation Demands training
Promotion and needs training
In house training (you buy a new piece of equipment and decide to do your own power point)

etc,etc,etc
